Apr 22, 2024 · New evidence was uncovered in the 2000s that suggests Jumbo's keeper killed the prized elephant. Author John Sutherland believes Jumbo was led to the tracks by his keeper Matthew Scott as an attempt to off him. According to Sutherland, at the end of his life, Jumbo was becoming extremely ill.
