In biography Laughing on the Outside: The Life of John Candy, friends recall that Candy locked himself away at home and wouldn’t even answer the phone after Belushi died. According to actor Dan Hennessey, “John knew it was time to go home, clean up, and get his career in order.”
He previously appeared with Macaulay Culkin in John Hughes ' film Uncle Buck and they appeared together again in Home Alone director Chris Columbus ' film Only the Lonely, which also featured Kieran Culkin . Candy died of a heart attack in his sleep on March 4th, 1994. He was 43 years old.
