Hanami and Jogo used Domain Amplification (which is a separate thing from Simple Domain) to neutralize Gojo's Infinity and allow them to actually touch him.
Hanami rescues Jogo. Before Gojo can manage to exorcise Jogo or get any information out of him, Hanami sends a floral spear at the source to save his comrade. The spear sticks into the ground, creating space between the sorcerer and Jogo. It also spawns a garden of flowers that puts Satoru and Yuji into a harmless trance.
I'm thinking that the way this works is that Gojo can exert force through his neutral limitless. We see this when he crushes Hanami or when Jogo tries to touch him. He just moves forward or pushes forward and extends the technique. This is confusing though because of the way it operated otherwise.
