In AMC's The Walking Dead, Glenn Rhee plays a crucial role as the primary supply runner for the Atlanta survivor camp. His notable actions include rescuing Rick Grimes from a walker-infested Atlanta and facilitating his reunion with his family at the camp.
In the episode "Guts", Glenn uses the radio to rescue Rick from the horde of walkers surrounding the tank, and guides Rick to the location of his group, which consists of Andrea, T-Dog, Merle Dixon, Jacqui, and Morales, hiding in a department store.
Comic Glenn had basically left the group before he died, and while all of these were the right calls for his family (saved their lives), it did make comic Glenn more expendable as a character, and his death worked to push Maggie into her leadership role/beef with Rick perfectly.
