Oct 1, 2010 · So one of the most important things we need to learn and teach others is how to guard, strengthen, and renew our minds, because the battle for sin always starts in the mind. There are many passages in Scripture that we could look at in this chapter, but I want us to focus in on one, 2 Corinthians 10:3–5:
May 27, 2017 · One of the ways we fight the war of the mind is by considering the fruit we’re presently experiencing, or the fruit we would experience if we engaged a particular thought or suggested action. If the fruit doesn’t resemble the fruit of the Spirit or the life of Jesus, we can be certain that our minds are not presently in submission to Jesus.
In Christ, we can achieve victory in the spiritual battle of the mind, and Scripture offers practical steps to secure it. The people of God must recognize that in their own strength, they will lose the battle.

- Stand in Truth. It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed and panicky when you are faced with fighting inner demons. But you don’t have to be; you don’t have to accept these thoughts.
- Praising God. When fighting spiritual battles, you can triumph through praising God. When the lies, doubts, insecurities, fears, worries, and discouragement come, start praising him.
- Stay in the Word of God. When the inner battle feels so intense, remember to stay in the word of God. “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”
- Keep Praying. In winning the battle in your mind, prayer is essential. “Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.”
The truth we stand on—the truth of who God is, what Jesus did for us, and who we are in Christ Jesus—is meant to permeate everything we do. In the battle for our minds, we can refute Satan’s lies.
