Short Answer. Microsoft Outlook’s Archive feature automatically moves older emails and items from your mailbox to an Outlook Data File (.pst). This helps you keep your mailbox organized and reduce its size. You can define the time period after which emails will be archived, and you can also manually archive items at any time.
