Atm I’ve 3 different tactics. Home 5-2-2-1 possession, away 3-4-3 counter attacking for those teams who like overload wide areas and home/away 4-3-3 countering 4-2-3-1 or narrow tactics. I’m Wrexham and is mine first season in CH after back to back promotions so I’m countering opponent tactics more than usually but after 21 games I’m 3rd.
Thanks for helping a noob. If playing a similarly strong team: Home:control Away:standard. If playing a much weaker team: Home: attacking Away: control. If playing a much stronger team: Home: counter Away: defensive. At least that's how I do it.
Apr 25, 2024 · Creating a new tactical slot, we’re going to set up our away game plan. We’ll keep the same defensive structure as the home tactic but we’re going to adapt our formation to a 4-4-2 by making our number 10 a second striker. This will give us a more compact shape for the longer periods of play when we’re out of possession and defending.
I would start with just playing a more conservative, but still recognisable, version of your current tactic to counter the fact teams will be playing less cautiously against you then when they come to your ground. From there, look for patterns. There will be a vulnerability all of them are exploiting. If you can find it you can fix it.

Doing well in the tactic parts of the game can be the difference between winning that fancy title or getting sacked.
