Jan 10, 2020 · The Creature Double Feature, on WLVI channel 56 out of Boston, was one of my favorite shows growing up (see my original post HERE). It ran from 1975 until 1984, offering some of the greatest monster movies of all time to the children and adults living in New England.
Creature Double Feature usually aired on Saturday afternoons. Because it aired after the traditional Saturday morning cartoon time block, it introduced many younger viewers to classic (and not-so-classic) monster movies. In other cities it aired either on Friday night or Saturday night.

Feb 13, 2006 · I was just thinking about this today while listening to ELP's "Toccata" which was the theme song for this WLVI Channel 56 Saturday afternoon monster/horror fest. They played some of the best classic B-movies and I remember watching them on the old black & white TV in my parents room because they didn't want to watch it on the good TV!
This is a list of monster movies, about such creatures as extraterrestrial aliens, giant animals, Kaiju (the Japanese counterpart of giant animals, but they can also be machines and plants), mutants, supernatural creatures, or creatures from folklore, such as Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster.
