Vendetta for the Saint is a 1964 mystery novel featuring the character of Simon Templar, alias "The Saint". Vendetta for the Saint was the first full-length Saint novel published since The Saint Sees it Through, 18 years earlier. A television adaptation of the novel was released as a theatrical film, also entitled Vendetta for the Saint, in 1969.
"Vendetta for the Saint" was made without provision for a TV edit and has no special halo sequence for part two; also part two has the film version's 'end' caption. The 71 b/w episodes were originally divided into four series in the UK and the colour episodes were series 5 and 6.
Roger Moore charismatically dons the halo as he takes on Ian Hendry, a fake mafia don, dodging a bomb device placed in his car, almost getting injected with scopolamine and running around the Palermo countryside hunted by Hendry's goons.

Vendetta for the Saint is a 1969 feature film re-edited from a two-part episode of the "Saint" TV series starring Roger Moore as Simon Templar. The episode in turn was based on the 1964 novel of the same name.
While on holiday in Naples, the Saint is drawn into a Mafia war when an English businessman is murdered after greeting an Italian colleague who claims they have never met.

Location shooting took place in Malta, for the producers were afraid of shooting a movie with a Mafia theme on location in Naples or Sicily.

Nov 30, 2021 · Vendetta for The Saint (1969) *** This big-screen version of small-screen hero is as pleasant a diversion as you can get. Nostalgia pretty much gives it a free pass and in any case the action, which punctuates the drama at regular intervals, was always going to be budget-restricted.
