Based on what I’ve seen in my family I would definitely say that I think she has bipolar 1 and autism spectrum disorder. She is also possibly schizoaffective (if you haven’t heard of this, it’s basically the middle ground between schizophrenia and bipolar).
Personally, I believe it's mental illness disguising her true intellectual capability. I'm a behavioral health nurse, and I have seen numerous patients who are highly intellectual and have masters degrees act like Susanne because they are so psychotic.
I think she also has an attachment disorder, very common among children who are adopted. I only have a BS in psych though.
