Selma briefly considers artificial insemination. When Homer gets food poisoning from eating an expired hoagie, Marge arranges for Selma to take Bart and Lisa to Duff Gardens while she stays home to look after Homer. At Duff Gardens, Bart and Lisa run amok and eventually end up in the park's security office with Selma.

She has little success, so she considers artificial insemination. In the mean time, the Simpsons plan to go to an amusement park called Duff Gardens (the park is aimed at whole families but is ironically based on a beer company), but Homer gets sick. Selma takes the kids instead, but has trouble taking care of them.
After Selma had a couple of bad dates in her efforts to have a baby, Lisa suggested that she try artificial insemination. Selma visited the sperm bank and talked with a doctor. Selma asked how she could be sure she would get quality sperm, and the doctor reassured her that the sperm bank's donors had to pass a rigorous screening process.
