   Why did Sainsbury's 'SavaCentre' get its name?

   • The name chosen for the new company was ‘SavaCentre’ (in later years generally stylized as ‘Savacentre’). Sainsbury’s design team produced a ‘ hard-hitting and controversial ’ symbol for it which represented ‘the dynamism of the parent companies’ and, through its blue and green colours, the rural surroundings of Savacentre stores.
