Feb 7, 2014 · Overall, Majestic forges are overbuilt and under-insulated. After about twenty minutes of running it, you'll be able to cook dinner on top of the forge. All that lost heat is due to using a cast insulation with no reflective coating. And you get the privilege of paying for the fuel to do it.

Jun 12, 2012 · I have and use a majestic forge daily and i can personally recommend them for the low budget smith or newbie for sure. The attention to finish work on the forge left something to be desired (weld spatter left on the forge box after welding and hinges needed slight adjustment) but i must say that these forges do a xxxx good job for the price they are offered at.

You might be able to get more performance from it if you get some fire brick to obstruct the front and back openings to retain more heat in the forge. I have a forge that is 17" deep 4-5" wide and around 6" high.
