  6. A little disheartening seeing the Letterboxd rating for The Marine being the lowest of the currently six film series. Its sequels strike an average of what's expected from throwback direct-to-video action while John Cena's leading man debut is like a strong '80s genre thoroughbred.

Pursuing them is an ex-marine, John Triton, an action hero lifted straight from a Steven Seagal film and thrown head-first into this one.

  8. A discharged soldier (John Cena) returns home from Iraq and finds that his wife (Kelly Carlson) has been kidnapped by the gang of a murderous jewel thief (Robert Patrick).
