With Cumulus 1 (or MX) on Windows, each line in every file ends with both carriage return and line feed. With MX on a Mac, each line should end with just a Carriage Return. For all Unix-based operating systems (Linux, Raspberry Pi OS, and other variants), each line should end with just a Line Feed.
Jan 15, 2022 · Times have changed... less reliance on big box PC, small Pi can do a lot, more WiFi and direct to internet, many of the old station models no longer available, more sensor options, new devices, etc. CumulusMX does what Cumulus 1 does and more more more, and will also work with all those new things.
Both Cumulus' are now 100% reliable. Both work with the same manufacturer/versions of weather station and devices. The webtags and data files created and uploaded are identical so interchangeable. Jan 2, 2015 · Cumulus MX aims to be as close to 100% compatible with Cumulus 1 as possible. Aside from a very few places where it is not fully compatible, it is different in two main ways. Firstly, it consists of a stand-alone 'engine' which performs the reading and logging of data, uploading to a web site etc.
