Created in honor of the 2023 centenary of the Falcon Marching Band, the BGSU Bands Collection includes sound recordings, videos, photographs, programs, letters, trophies, helmets, and so much more.

The band, in its history, has had original music commissioned and then performed. In 2003, the band commissioned music by Ryan Nowlin (BGSU Classes of 2000 and 2004) titled Frontiers. The band premiered this show on November 28, 2003. In 2007, the band again commissioned a work from Ryan Nowlin titled New Frontiers.
It expanded arts and music programs when the music department became the College of Education's first "school", renamed the School of Music in 1961. [6] Specializations in guidance and counseling were added to the Master of Arts and Master of Education degrees in 1964; as well as a new department for teaching college administration. [ 6 ]
Sep 20, 2023 · The BGSU band celebrates 100 years at Homecoming with their largest band class yet. BGSU introduced their first band, “the College Band,” with 20 all-male students, according to BGSU’s website. Now, BGSU has a band community of around 300 students and ranks the highest attendance in BGSU history according to Jonathan Waters, BGSU’s band director.
