The default settings for this is 10% respawn after 72 in-game hours. So if a cell has 500 Zombies in it and each day you kill 50, no Zombies will actually respawn. But if you leave the area for 72 hours, 50 Zombies will respawn there. After 720 hours the cell has 500 zombies again.
Jan 7, 2023 · The zombies in Project Zomboid don’t stay dead once they’ve been killed; even if you manage to kill one of them, it’ll just come back to bite you later on (literally). Thankfully, they don’t respawn right away, so you’ve got some time to get away before they get back up.

Sep 22, 2022 · Zombie pop and spread is governed by two factors; peak population and respawn rate. Meta zombie pops (as in, not actively simulated) are not subject to pathfinding restrictions. This allows the (highly unlikely) occurence of zombies spawning in buildings that are otherwise completely secured.

I do respawns on but with modified respawn settings. On normal settings (survivor base as far as I know), respawns occur once every 3 days, and for .1 (10%) of the total population. This means you'll have a fully respawned area in 30 days.
KalosTheSorcerer. • 2 yr. ago. I play with Zombie respawn off because of the jank that happens sometimes with it on. I prefer to clear out my land and have it safe and claimed instead of logging in one day and having a mob of 20 zombies spawn in a room in my house I didn't check since I logged in.
Nov 3, 2022 · If you are wondering if zombies ever respawn after being killed and entirely dead after a while, the answer is yes. In vanilla settings, all zombies eventually respawn, but it won't be for a while. At first, a slow trickle of zombies will roam back into locations such as towns.
