Uniformed officers and staff: Hair must be worn above the collar. If you have long hair, you must wear it neatly and securely fastened up, relatively close to and behind the head and so as not to interfere with any uniform headwear. Long ponytails are not allowed. Hair bands or ties must be black or navy.
The commissioners and other senior-ranked officers of the Metropolitan Police and the City of London Police wear a full dress ceremonial uniform on state and special occasions (e.g. Trooping the Colour).
4.5.6 Uniformed police officers and police staff attending court are to wear their standard uniform. Officers who have a tunic are permitted to wear them. Personal protective equipment, including body armour should not be worn when giving evidence, but should be stored at the court.
