Vortex is great for picking and choosing your own mods vs Jabberwock if you only want a handful (sub 100) iMO. MO2 is great if you want full control with quantity. Just my 2 caps! Edit: I've had 200 - 300 mods running smoothly with vortex on FO4 and SkyrimSE.
Absolutely recommend a mod manager – Mod Organizer 2 is by and large the most popular, but Vortex also has its share of adherents. Do not use Nexus Mod Manager, which is considered deprecated. GamerPoets' channel on YouTube has some excellent tutorials if you are unsure about anything.
