What happens in the end? Rabban is briefly listed among the body count following the Arrakis Revolt. No other mention. We don’t even get to read of his death. After this, Gurney is left hungry for Harkonnen blood, and outright begs Paul to let him kill Feyd-Rautha. Paul refuses, and Gurney is left unsatisfied and bitter as the story ends.

Thematically, Gurney should destroy Rabban so fast it should be difficult to not portray his death as humorous. A summary for the Jodorowsky's Dune script said Rabban died in that because he was found cowering after a battle and was immediately executed. That's how the Harkonnens should go.
