"Don't Make It Harder on Me" is the eleventh track off Chloe x Halle's sophomore album Ungodly Hour, released on June 12, 2020, through Parkwood Entertainment. The track was written by Chloe x Halle, Nasri Atweh, and Jeff Gitelman, who also produced it.
The song has a lighthearted feel and, in contrast, tells a story of love and the loss within it. It is a prime example of what it feels like to leave a person and thinking it was for the better. The feeling of moving on to someone you’renew while also having second thoughts about the person you left behind. These second thoughts remind you so much of all the good times, that you almost forget all the hurt they caused you as well. In the end this person moves forward and the girls do as well.
