"Introducing the mouse-murderin', the heart burglarin', the king of the kennel, Furguson Michael Jordan Bishop! [..] He's licking his no-no."

    —Winston introduces Furguson

Previously, he belonged to Winston's ex-girlfriend Daisy. In "Nerd", Winston is asked to catsit for Daisy while she's out of town and reluctantly agrees. He comes to the conclusion that Daisy is cheating on him, and tries to find numerous ways to kill Furguson. In the end, Winston can't go through with harming the animal and grows to appreciate his stubborn attitude. Daisy returned to pick up Furguson and confirmed her cheating, so Winston claimed she didn't deserve him or Furguson. After this, Furguson became the fifth resident of the loft and an important part of Winston's life. He even considered himself to be Furguson's "father" and referred to Furguson as his son on multiple occasions. His affinity for Furguson was the topic of many discussions within the loft.

In "The Captain", Furguson has to be neutered but Winston doesn't want him to be left out of an experience and plans to have his cat to have a sexual encounter with another cat. Nick and Jess jokingly suggest a "cat Bachelor party" before the operation, with cat strippers. He goes to a pet store where he encounters a woman and her female cat, but the woman mistakes Winston's advantages as him flirting with her. The night turns out unpleasant for everyone, and Furguson doesn't have his sexual encounter.

In "Longest Night Ever", Winston leaves the apartment and asks Nick to watch Furguson while he's gone. Nick loses the cat and the pair eventually receives a call from a woman named Bertie who has found Furguson under the fire escape eating a dead raccoons eyeball. When Winston has an attraction to Bertie, he tasks Nick with taking Furguson home and Nick obliges.

In "Helmet", Furguson goes on an audition to be a cat actor with his full name being spoken as "Furguson Michael Jordan Bishop". He initially requires catnip to come out of his carrier when in front of Tripp but comes out willingly in the real audition. He then proceeded to jump into a garbage can causing the casting directors to laugh. They wanted to book Furguson for his realness, but Winston pulled him from the showbiz world citing that it was too competitive for Furguson.

In "Young Adult", Winston discovers that Furguson has been living in another apartment and splitting his time between the two. The woman resides in a nearby apartment and has named Furguson "Sweatshirt".

Furguson Bishop died of natural causes a year before "Where the Road Goes" and was with Winston when he died. During "Where the Road Goes", the gang travels to a cemetery for the memorial of Furguson, performed according to Jewish tradition, to honor his passing a year before. Because apparently, Furguson was one of the Chosen People. The reception was held at The Griffin where several old friends returned to pay their respects to Furguson. At the event, Winston found a kitten whom he named NAFTA that helped fill the void left by Furguson's passing.

•The actor who plays Furguson is named "Furguson", spelled the same way.

•He is the only recurring animal in the series and the first pet to be owned by the Gang. Winston was supposed to own a hamster during Secret Santa but gave it to Jess.
