A popular walk around the famous York Walls. The Bronte waterfalls walk is a 6-mile circular walk to the Bronte Waterfalls and Top Withens. Top Withens is thought to be the inspiration for Emily Bronte as the home of Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights.
The walk starts from free roadside parking on West Lane in Haworth (just before leaving the village on the west side, towards Stanbury). There is a long parking area but if it is full, there are free lay-by areas along Cemetery Road, along which the walk goes.
This is a lovely circular route that takes you past Lower Laithe Reservoir, up to Top Withens and visits the Brontë Falls on the way back. Haworth was home to the Brontë sisters, with Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights perhaps most influenced by the landscape.
