Apr 29, 2012 · You can use special characters in the title of a book, if they exist on your keyboard. You cannot paste text/characters or use alt-codes when writing a title. You can only edit the text on a page starting at the last character. This means, if you notice a typo at the top of the page, you must first backspace the whole page to fix it.
Aug 29, 2018 · Fortunately there are some nice tricks for that though: by using the paragraph character § (you can make this using the alt-21 combination (so: press alt and keep it pressed, then type 21 on your numerical keyboard)). When you use this character in a book then Minecraft will pick this up as a formatting code.
If you use commands or third-party tools you can make it up to 32767 character per page. I think the hard limit was mainly just because if you’re typing normally than you’re not going to fit more than 255 characters.
