Painting a bus conversion, for us, was a month of grueling dirty work peppered with a fair amount of questioning as to WHAT exactly we we got ourselves into, and WHYwe were doing it. 100% worth it! I’ll admit, we had to hit pause on a lot of the other things that we LOVE to do; hiking, creative projects, etc. This project takes TIME. The thing that...

Despite the difficulty and frustration experienced, we wouldn’t have done it any other way. Now, we can look at our majestic sea blue, cotton candy-esque mermaid of a bus and say, we friggin’ did...

  5. This was a massive job that I’d been putting off doing for a long time – I’ve had this paint since December last year! But I finally got around to doing it this month. It took 8 solid days of work, with cleaning the roof, painting the etch primer, then 5 coats of the Thermoshield followed by 2 coats of sealer.

  7. May 7, 2023 · It took me several weeks to paint the bus roof. It was slow going because I couldn’t start painting until around 11am each day, as I had to wait for the morning dew to fully evaporate from the roof, and you need to allow 6 hours between coats of the Thermoshield.
