This article explains how to change your username in Fortnite, which is really just your display name on the Epic Games sites. The article also includes information about the requirements for changing your name.
If you're unhappy with your Fortnite username for any reason and you want to change it, you'll have to change it through Epic Games. Your Epic Games display name is the name that shows up in Fortnite. Fortunately, it's pretty simple to change.
While you can start this process from the Epic Games Launcher, you will be required to finish it on the Epic Games website using a web browser.
1.If you're starting on the web, log into the Epic Games website and tap your account icon in the upper right corner.
If you're starting in the Epic Games Launcher, tap your account icon in the lower-left corner and choose Manage Account. This will take you to the account page on the Epic Games website.
2.Both actions will take you to your General Settings page. Tap the blue pencil (Edit) icon next to your display name.
3.An editing dialog box will open. Type your new display name in the field provided, and then type it again in the confirmation field.
The most important thing to know about this process is it won't change your Gamertag on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch. So, if you're playing Fortnite on a console, you may need to change that Gamertag to change your Fortnite name. These articles will help:

But if you're using the Epic Games Launcher on a PC, it's free to change your name, which changes your name on Fortnite; remember the one small caveat. You can only change your name every two weeks. So, if the new name you've selected still doesn't suit you, you'll have to wait a bit before you can change it again.
The good news is, you can change it as many times as you like until you find the name that strikes fear in the hearts of your enemies.
