Aug 8, 2023 · Kaido and Big Mom were last seen in a pool of Magma. The entire world seems to believe that they are dead. However, Oda is not known for killing off characters and hence there is a high possibility that these Yonkos are alive, but weakened.
It's implied that Big Mom and Kaido were likely blasted out of the magma chamber and into the waters surrounding Wano. As devil fruit users, this would seal their fate. But what if it didn't? Unsurprisingly, Kaido didn't burn up instantly in the molten rock.
Honestly, Luffy has repeatedly nearly died from simply drowning in regular water. Kaido and Big Mom are "unable to swim," Lava shouldn't be any exception (I think) so Kaido and Big Mom are doomed to drown in Magma as no living creature can dive in and pull those two out.
My thoughts are, that Oda put them there to “kill” them. Lava is a believable way to die for someone already beaten and on the verge of death…even a yonko. In fact, lava/magma is literally why Whitebeard died even if Blackbeard ended him quicker, so a yonko has already died this way.
