Permit holders may apply to the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service for permission to reside and work without the requirement for an employment permit upon completion of the Critical Skills Employment Permit’s duration. Other general features of employment permits also apply.

The Critical Skills Employment Permit is a form of official immigration status. After two years of living in Ireland under a Critical Skills Employment Permit, you will be eligible to live in Ireland without an employment permit if you have lived in accordance with the conditions of the permit.
