May 12, 2022 · I would totally allow a Halfling or other small PC to ride a giant frog, or almost every animal on this list, they would simply need an exotic saddle. (That’s what exotic saddles are for, and at most it would be an Animal Handling check to stay mounted as per RAW.)
Sep 20, 2015 · We wouldn't be able to ride it like a horse, however. Since most carnivores have a very flexible spine and fairly small shoulderblades compared to horses we would have to almost sit on the neck of the animal for it to be able to carry us without being hurt or disturbed in it's movement.
For the panther, the halfling could ride it as long as the DM agrees about the anatomy and the panther is willing. Keep in mind to fully control a mount it has to have been trained to accept a rider. A horse is not too big for a halfling to ride.
Mar 24, 2015 · A drow can't use a panther as a mount because mounts must be one size category larger than you (PHB p. 198), and drow and panthers are both Medium creatures. A panther could drag you while you're paralyzed, but you're too big/heavy for it to pick you up in its mouth.

Oct 26, 2018 · There are no rules specifying what happens with multiple riders. If a rider chooses to control the mount, the initiative changes but the action and movement may have already been expended for its turn. It doesn't say the mount gets another turn only that the initiative changes.
