6. Storage Unit. Storage units can be a great alternative to paying for a practice studio month-to-month. It’s most-suited to those who: Have a budget; Want a dedicated space to store their gear; Pros: Low-cost: Storage units can often be rented on a month-to-month basis for next to nothing.
- Skateparks & Rinks. Skateparks serve as a great rehearsal space option for bands because of the like-minded atmosphere — skateboarding is just one of those things that go hand in hand with music and art.
- Storage Units. If your band needs somewhere to practice, storage units provide a safe and affordable way to rent a small rehearsal space. Believe it or not, people actually live in storage units — so rehearsing in one really isn’t that crazy of an idea.
- Schools & Colleges. High schools and colleges have some of the most ideal settings for band rehearsal spaces. If you attend a local university, reach out to the music or performing arts departments, they likely have designated practice spaces that can be reserved by students.
- Churches. Similar to schools and colleges, churches often have extra space that can double as rehearsal space for bands. However, the difference between churches and schools is that churches are privately owned organizations and aren’t obligated to host community events, clubs, or bands (although most do).
Usually can't practice when other people distract my concentration. The answer it's yes you should seek a place where is only you, your instrument. There's no windows, and the walls would be concrete and corrugated iron, so not the best acoustics.

Many commercial spaces like offices and storage units offer rehearsal space for bands and musicians, but the prices will average around $20 an hour and add up as the months go by.
Any space that is available for rent can theoretically be used as a rehearsal space, as long as the property owner does not object to the noise. You might be able to find office space in an industrial area that would work, or space in a church. Some bands even practice in storage units!
