He can walk on Earth perfectly, and Bess (whom he wanted to take to K-Pax) would be able to move on K-Pax. For K-Pax to have 1g, it would have to have more than twice the Earth's radius at 4.2 Earth masses.

In K-PAX, there are two possible explanations: Prot is crazy. He is truly an alien. There are facts that indicate 1, but also 2. Examples: He seems to respond to hypnosis, has a sort of phobia of water, looks just like his friend and doesn't physically leave.

When he leaves to go back to K-PAX, Robert is mentally gone. Prot has the memories because he’s using Robert’s body which still has triggers and dramas. When Prot returns home the body is left the way he found it previously. He then goes to the one gal he chooses to take back with him. It was very obvious in the movie.
