  4. Mar 5, 2011 · Michael Moorcock is regarded as one of the greatest living fantasy writers, and his books tend to cross genres today, but back in the 1970s and 1980s when the GW studio was young he was known mainly for one character: the cursed albino wanderer Elric, the Eternal Champion.

  5. Jan 2, 2015 · I don't agree 100% with Moorcock, but I think he has some points. In particular, I disagree that Tolkien's style is crap (yes, Moorcock also argues that Tolkien's work is stylistically bad, not only reactionary). I do believe Tolkien was somewhat reactionary, but I can appreciate his work anyway.

  7. I might have taken away different thoughts than Moorcock-- his focus is primarily on the writing style of such works, but it's hard to bring the idea of conservatism into fantasy without also discussing the intersectionality at play.
