Boscastle (Standard Written Form: Kastel Boterel) [1] is a village and fishing port on the north coast of Cornwall, England, in the civil parish of Forrabury and Minster (where the 2011 Census population was included) . It is 14 miles (23 km) south of Bude and 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Tintagel. [2] .
Boscastle is more than just a harbour village, explore woodland and see unique geological features and Atlantic ocean views. Discover wildflowers and plants attracting a wide range of insects and butterflies. Step further beyond to see coastal plant life with sea life and farmland birds. Top trails.
Cornwall's North Coast has plenty to see and do, from Bude in the far north, all the way down to Perranporth. It's famed for its long sandy beaches and big cliffs. It's a surfers paradise, it's got history and heritage at Tintagel and Boscastle, it's got fantastic walks and views... The easy answer is, don't miss any of it!
- Devon S. Devon, UK8 contributions. Amazing place - we will be back. Amazing place with so many artefacts you could spend the whole day in here easily if you read every articles description.
- Bailey T. Nottingham, UK78 contributions. A sweet village. We visited on a very wet day but enjoyed our walk down to the harbour. Parking in the village is cheap and nearby and the pasties we had from Boscastle Bakery were delicious.
- Theo R. Sudbury, Canada 1 contribution. A breathtaking walk! Don’t frequent the Cliffhanger Bar. The views were breathtaking walking on some of the most prestine landscapes of the area.
- Lennie. Milton Keynes, UK59 contributions. Stunning coastal views & not too strenuous. The walk from Boscastle to Tintagel on the coastal path is stunning and not too steep.
- The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic. This museum has the largest collection of witchcraft-related items in the world. Sounds whacky, right? Well, that’s largely because it is!
- Boscastle Harbour. The natural harbour of Boscastle is without a doubt the best attraction in the village. The stone wall dates back to the 16th century, although the inlet is, of course, completely natural.
- Walk along the River Valency. The River Valency runs through the heart of Boscastle Village. In fact, Boscastle is nestled in the Valency Valley, and no trip here would be complete without spending some time soaking it all in!
- Find Boscastle’s blow hole. Just under Penally Point, you’ll find a rocky blow hole, where you can witness water gushing out of the rocks! To see it, walk to the harbour and stay on the left side, so you’re opposite Penally Point.
Find out how to get to Boscastle, where to park, the things to see and do and more. Plan your visit. Explore the harbour inlet and natural wooded valley. Venture further along the coast to see geological rock formations and sea views.
The Old Parsonage – A beautiful Georgian house just a five minute walk across flower strewn ancient farming ‘stitches’ to the spectacular south west coast path and close to Boscastle Harbour. The house offers spacious, stylish and comfortable accommodation in a tranquil setting.
