Bidnija is a rural hamlet between Mosta, St. Paul's Bay and Mġarr. It is located in the northern region of Malta and is home to roughly 308 people as of 2008, the second least populated habitable zone on the Maltese islands after Mdina (306 people).
Bidnija is the second smallest village in Malta, after Mdina, with only 308 inhabitants covering an area of 6.4 km 2. Bidnija is located in the central northern part of Malta between two valleys, 'Wied Tal-Pwales' and 'Wied Qannotta' and surrounded by fields.
Bidnija Olive Grove. The Bidnija site is divided into two distinct, but connected, areas. The first consists of around 20 large olive trees. The olive grove was protected in 1933 by the Antiquities Preservation Act and has been granted the highest level of protection ever since.
The Church of the Holy Family in Bidnija is a modern building in a Neo-classical design. The first foundation stone was laid in 1921 and built to the designs of the Maltese architect and stonemason Salvu Zahra (1874-1960) and paid for by the inhabitants of Bidnija to see to their spiritual needs.
