Dubs have definitely improved since the early 90s. Namco Bandai (sic) was the first anime studio I noticed back then who took their dubbing very seriously and produced fantastic sound tracks. But honestly, I think it was anime purists who tried their best to devalue dubs as much as possible.
That’s why some fans argue that subbed is better than dubbed, and in this case – it’s true. Though dubbed anime these days is more accurate when it comes to lip syncing. It’s not as bad as it was 10 or 20 years ago (when some anime were good, others weren’t).
