Ash, once known as Dr. Ashleigh Reid, is a character first introduced in Titanfall 2, and a Legend first introduced in Season 11. A simulacrum Pilot, Ash joined the Apex Games to prove her superiority to both the other competitors and to her sympathetic split personality.

It’s not a split personality or dissociative identity disorder (DID) but rather still Dr. Reid, just different parts of her personality fighting for control at one moment. That's my headcannon to the SftO. Side note: Revenant and Ash are opposites. I realised an interesting fact on their ‘awakening’ outcomes.
Ash is the embodiment of the cold, perfectionistic, power-hungry side of Dr. Reid. After an encounter with Horizon overrides Ash's simulacrum programming, the framework that kept the vulnerable - yet intelligent - Leigh personality dormant has begun to crack.
