Sep 13, 2005 · When Omar gets out and moves into a transition house, he reunites with Pete Duncan, his friend for several decades. “Pete Duncan is a friend of mine that I have known for over 20 years,” says Omar. “Pete and I spent a lot of years behind bars. It seems like the 30 years I was there, he was there.”
Omar and Pete is the real story of two incarcerated friends who have spent the better part of their last thirty years in Maryland prisons. Omar and Pete are determined to change their lives. Both have been in and out of prison for more than 30 years — never out longer than six months.
The film follows the two long-time friends for several years after what they hope will be their final prison release. In that time, their lives take divergent paths as one wrestles with addiction and fear while the other finds success and freedom through helping others.
