Sep 14, 2006 · The head is built well and in most cases to last. The poly leaves some to be desired. If you examine what has happened with today's corn there is little need for automatic deck plates as some fertilizer studies show as little as 2mm variation in the stalk diameters.
Nov 23, 2023 · Worked great at speeds up to 6mph and shelling on the head was really low even in a lot of 17% corn. I thought it chopped well ( single chop ) and don’t think I would need double chop at all. I could see if you like to harvest in the rain the suspended deck plates would require some maintenance.
Aug 20, 2013 · We've been thinking about trading our 3408 CaseIH corn head for either a 12 row Drago or Geringhoff head. It seems like we get a fair amount of kernal loss with our current head no matter what we adjust and looking to eliminate that problem.
Jul 28, 2016 · I can't speak for the 608 head but the Drago wear items last much longer than the Case heads. I hadn't touched my old one in 3 years except for routine maintenance. They are very good heads for getting an early start in the morning and still feed great.
