Dec 31, 2022 · In short, Tesla does not continuously record and retain footage. It does record continuously but will only store footage when an "incident" is triggered. This is don't by honking assuming you have the dashcam on honk turned on. Also you can click the camera icon while driving.
Apr 4, 2018 · RecentClips - Random clips likely pulled by Tesla as part of the opt-in data sharing. SavedClips - Tapping the camera icon on the screen will store the last 10 minutes of footage. SentryClips - All recorded footage for each time sentry detected significant motion.
Apr 15, 2019 · The clips of you driving probably happened within 10 minutes before a Sentry event. Lastly, my videos look like crap -- they flash grey (see below). Doesn't matter if it's front cam or left/right repeaters -- they all do it.
There are a number of ways to view saved video footage from the Tesla dashcam. The easiest way is to watch all four video streams at the same time on the main screen. Just tap the dashcam icon when parked, and select Launch Viewer.
Oct 3, 2024 · To watch your saved Dashcam clips, start by tapping the Dashcam icon on your Tesla’s touchscreen. Make sure the car is in Park. This will bring up the viewer interface, displaying multiple camera angles simultaneously. On the screen, you’ll see four video streams.
Dashcam records video footage of your vehicle's surroundings while driving. Use Dashcam to record driving incidents or other notable events, like you would for an external dashcam on other vehicles.

When pressed, your vehicle’s external cameras will share a short VIN-associated Autopilot Snapshot with the Tesla engineering team to help make improvements to FSD. You will not be able to view the clip.
