The Rising Sun Tavern was originally built in the Colonial era as the home of George Washington’s youngest brother, Charles Washington. After Washington moved to found Charles Town, West Virginia, the property became a Federal Tavern, welcoming guests to the bustling port town of Fredericksburg.
