You can visit the glory of Houston’s railroad past by stepping into what was the lobby of Union Station, which on game days becomes an Astros team store. Once inside, just look up.
The left-field bleacher concourse doubles as an exhibit of the greatest players and personnel in Astros history, featuring bronze plaques and intriguing memorabilia.
If you have time outside before a game, stroll through a park-like section near the left-field entrance and see a number of artistic displays, including sculptures of former Astros stars Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwellthrowing to one another.
Off the bleacher concourse is a semi-circular intrusion over left-center field where you get a terrific view of, well, everything. It also includes a giant gas pump indicating the number of Astros home runs hit at Minute Maid Park since the ballpark’s opening.
Everyone can see the multi-tiered, multi-fantasmic food court behind center field, but equal love must be given to this collection of fabulous eats tucked away behind the first-base seats that includes BBQ, Tex-Mex and Cajun offerings.
