Steel Pulse: Still As Good as Ever Live? I recently had the privilege of seeing Burning Spear live (a great life experience) and may have the opportunity to see Steel Pulse coming up as well. That being said it would require moving some travel around, altering plans. I can do this but it would take some work.
Steel Pulse is a Roots-Reggae musical band that has the honor of being the first non-Jamaican act to win the Grammy Award for the best Reggae album. They were one of the best British Roots-Reggae bands and their only rival was Aswad, considering their success. Their styles are Reggae-Pop, Roots-Reggae, and Contemporary Reggae.
This is the jam. The lyrics are deep as well. Same. I personally love the voice arrangements with dissonances and the progressions. The intro is a bit psychedelic with tensions resolving into Irie vibes of the verse.
Steel Pulse are a roots reggae band from the Handsworth area of Birmingham, England.They originally formed at Handsworth Wood Boys School, and were composed of David Hinds (lead vocals, guitar), Basil Gabbidon (lead guitar, vocals), and Ronald McQueen (bass); along with Basil's brother Colin briefly on drums and Mykaell Riley (vocals, percussion).
