Why Montrose is a good place to live. Living in Montrose affords the opportunity to enjoy picturesque coastal living, thanks to it being situated between the North Sea and Montrose Basin. Its high street has a wonderful mix of independent and high-street shops while its expansive sandy beach is perfect for leisurely strolls.
- There are outdoor activities for all seasons. It doesn’t matter if it’s spring, summer, fall, or winter. When the weather changes, residents of Montrose adapt.
- You can easily get away from town for a change. Whether you’re looking for a quick getaway to the nearby West Elk or the San Juan Mountains, a longer trip to the desert in Moab, Utah, or somewhere in between, you’ll find a wide variety of possibilities.

Jan 24, 2017 · Wildcoast · 24/01/2017 18:29. Montrose is a bigger town, has more shops and a tesco and lidl. There is a new leisure centre and lots of decent parks. Has a train station too and property is much cheaper. Stonehaven is closer to Aberdeen. The high school is probably better, there are more local/quirky shops but no big decent supermarket (3 coops!).

I live there. It’s true about climate. Largely it’s pleasant with less rain. Great beaches. St Cyrus, Lunan, Kinnaber. The high street has similar problems to most towns Aldi, Lidl, Tesco - all there. Cinema is great, good record shop - as mentioned. Close to Aberdeen/Dundee. Edinburgh is 1hr 40m on the train. Good golf courses, tennis courts.
