Valencia CF11 1 4 6 7 Girona (Catalan: [ʒiˈɾonə] ⓘ; Spanish: Gerona ⓘ) is the capital city of the province of Girona in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain, at the confluence of the Ter, Onyar, Galligants, and Güell rivers.
One of the most historic sites in Spain, Girona lies in northeast Catalonia, just 99 km (62 mi) from Barcelona. Founded by Romans, the city later was taken over by Moors and Franks before finally falling under the rule of Barcelona.
Girona. Known as the ‘City of the Four Rivers’, Girona's historic quarter is dominated by medieval buildings and Roman, Arab and Hebrew influences. It is in the walled enclosure of the Força Vella where the masterpieces of its historical development come together.

Girona is a beautiful walled city which sits on the edge of the River Onyar. On the waters edge are lovely tall buildings painted in a range of colours on the yellow/ochre end of the spectrum. Up above the river in the old town Girona's historic past is evident in its beautiful buildings.
