May 1977, the newly formed band, The Ants perform for the first time in public at the ICA restaurant, The Mall in central London and are told to stop after performing just one song “Beat My Guest” in front of what was said to be a stunned audience.
The bands performing are: Adam Ant / Asia Feat. John Payne / Kid Creole & the Coconuts / Men Without Hats / Thomas Dolby / Tony Hadley. was on May 11, 2024 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, United States.

To support the single, the band undertook a six-date theatre tour of Great Britain in March and visited the US for a club tour in April. The single became the band's first UK number-one record, staying at the top for five weeks in May 1981.
