Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voice of Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter - an unfortunate reality for the teenager.
A splendid surprise on Disney Plus (not sure why this didn't see a theatrical release), "Turning Red" is a colorful, vibrant coming-of-age story, accessible to all ages but teens especially (my twelve-year-old in particular, she loves this movie).
