Jason Miyares (R) defeated incumbent Mark Herring (D) in the election for attorney general of Virginia on November 2, 2021. Herring had served as Virginia’s attorney general since 2014. Miyares had served as state delegate representing District 82 in the Virginia House of Delegates since 2016.
