The result is an atmosphere where Middle-eastern music, European classical music, jazz and baroque are all taught under one roof. The field of dance includes classical ballet, modern dance, improvisation and a Department of Movement and Movement Notation, a field that has been pioneered at JAMD.
The graduate program is leading to a master's degree in music (M.Mus), training musical performers, composers, conductors and musical educators at an advanced standard, specializing and focusing on a major subject.
The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD) is Israel’s premiere academic institution in the fields of creation, performance and the teaching of music and dance. JAMD was established as a conservatory in 1932 by a gifted pianist, Yocheved Dostrovsky-Kopernick.
