  1. How to change or delete themes in Windows 10. To change your current theme: Click Start > Settings > Personalization > Themes. Under "Change theme", click the tile to switch to the theme you'd like to use.

    • Open Settings, and click/tap on the Personalization icon. If you like, you can open Run (Win+R), enter the command below, and click/tap on OK to directly open Desktop Icon Settings at step 4 below instead.
    • Click/tap on Themes on the left side, and click/tap on the Desktop icon settings link on the right side under Related Settings.
    • You can now close Settings if you like.
    • Check (default) or uncheck the Allow themes to change desktop icons box for what you want, and click/tap on OK.
  2. To get a theme, expand one of the categories below, select a link for the theme, and then select Open. This saves the theme to your PC and puts it on your desktop. If you prefer, some themes can also be installed from the Microsoft Store.

    • Open the all users, specific users or groups, or all users except administrators Local Group Policy Editor for how you want this policy applied.
    • In the left pane of the Local Group Policy Editor, click/tap on to expand User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Control Panel, and Personalization.
