Find the Gap is the second episode in the first season of the Amazon Prime Video television series, A League of Their Own. The episode was released on August 12, 2022.
Max and Clance prepare for Clance’s housewarming party. But Max has her eye on the prize, and asks Gary for an unusual favor. Meanwhile, the Peaches meet their coach, Dove Porter, but stumble through the league's Charm School. Carson struggles to find how to react to her new connection with Greta.
Marshall and Mr. Baker introduce the Rockford Peaches to their new coach, Casey "Dove" Porter. There is only one day before the first game, so Coach Dove takes the girls out to practice. He notices the team’s pitcher, Lupe García, who is extremely talented.
Lupe strikes Greta out. Dove teaches her how to do a forkball, which could be a game changer for the team. The girls see the owner and president of the league speak to a woman in the stands, Vivienne Hughes. Mr. Baker hires her because she owns a makeup company and can teach the girls some class.
The girls go to Vivienne's "charm school", but they think it's silly. They have to put on makeup and learn how to walk, talk, and curtsy. One of the girls can't curtsy well enough and she is dismissed from the team, surprising the girls. Carson wants to say something to stand up for her, but Greta stops her before she gets cut too. They realize that the upper management doesn't really care about having good players. They want pretty, lady-like women to impress the fans.
Meanwhile, Max is working at her mom’s salon. A wealthy customer comes in- Mrs. Turner. Max is asked to give her the VIP treatment.
The Rockford Peaches were shut out in their opener and had to deal with heckling for most of the game. They were told not to respond and to be quiet because Mr. Marshall needed fans in the stands, or they would lose their jobs for talking back.
Before Carson goes back into the locker room, she overhears Dove talking about the Peaches and explaining that he isn't a miracle worker. He even signed the baseball of the heckler.
